At Ingestre Arts, we aim to be recognised as a national centre of excellence where children and young people are inspired to achieve their full potential in an aspirational environment, and where creativity and sense of self is valued and encouraged to blossom.
Amazing ways to learn
We are part of Sandwell Residential Education Service which delivers a unique range of transferable learning experiences through outdoor exploration, adventure and creative arts. We exist to provide sustainable lifelong learning opportunities for children, young people and adults to become happier and more successful.
Our practitioners are skilled at delivering appropriately challenging, memorable experiences and addressing a wide range of learning outcomes. Programmes can be fully integrated with school curriculum and ethos, inclusive, designed to meet students' specific learning needs and planned so that learning is embedded and reinforced back at school.
We are at the forefront of residential education practice and development.
The breadth of our provision is second to none, and we were proud to host the national ‘Council for Learning Outside the Classroom’ annual conference in November 2017. The conference focussed on ‘Learning Outside the Classroom and Wellbeing’, with Sandwell’s Principal Educational Psychologist, Dr Kevin Rowland MBE, delivering a key note speech.
High quality, great value.
We strive to make our programmes and inspirational venues accessible to as many young people as possible through a range of options. A fully inclusive 4 night residential is available from just £180pp-£300pp and 2 nights from £100pp-£155pp. We also offer day visits and a venue-only option for revision retreats and rehearsal space.
Tailored learning experiences.
All of Sandwell’s centres deliver tailored learning programmes to meet the priorities of your school and children. We work in partnership with schools from all over the UK and overseas, so we have lots of ideas and experience of delivering learning in creative and adventurous ways. We would be delighted to discuss your aims, share ideas and answer any questions that you may have.
Small and perfectly formed.
Sure, you might be staying in our mansion at Ingestre or Victorian lodge in Snowdonia, but they are small centres that are your home for the week. We pride ourselves on our sense of community and commitment to each visitor.
Outcomes for pupils, outcomes for you.
Compelling independent research shows that a residential experience can improve students’ engagement with learning, support students’ achievement, improve resilience, self-confidence and wellbeing, boost cohesion and a sense of belonging, and widen and develop teachers’ pedagogical skills*.

The overall outcome was one that will stay with both the children and staff of Oakham for a long time. Both children and staff had a fantastic time – a fantastic way to start a new topic.

An Ingestre Arts residential offers consistent and significant value to our children at this critical stage in their school life. The Ingestre Arts experience equips the children to deal with the social and academic challenges.
