Windsor Park’s Wild Week
Posted on 26th November 2019 at 16:25
Last week we welcomed back Windsor Park middle school for a ‘wild world’ themed residential. The school made the short journey over from Uttoxeter bringing with them a host of enthusiastic artists, musicians, actors, actresses and dancers.
Windsor Park have a long-standing relationship with Ingestre and we are always absolutely blown away by the standards they set each time they come. The bar had been raised again this year, with students being extremely well-mannered, creative and curious in all of the right ways. As well as a week of creative workshops, the students got to enjoy 3D cinema nights, a visit to our interactive WW1 field hospital, a tour of Ingestre’s St Mary’s church as well as playing games and exploring the Hall itself.
With ‘Wild World’ as the theme for the weeks’ creativity, the canvas was set as blank for the week to be a colourful one! The varied art-forms always manage to cover the theme in a variety of ways, thus maximising the learning, both by experience and participation.
The groups created some fantastic works really taking their theme seriously and transporting us along with them on their creative journey. The results were some captivating discoveries that left both the visiting and Ingestre staff with a massive smile on their faces/
I think its best to summarise the week by quoting some of the children, who very kindly wrote thank-you letters to all of us at Ingestre.
“Thank-you so much for making my time at Ingestre an incredible experience. I’ve learnt skills that I wouldn’t have learnt if I hadn’t met you. You’ve built my confidence and dance skills in all different areas. You also let me have an experience I wouldn’t ever be able to have had without your support. I will remember the time I had with you for the rest of my life!”
“Thank-you Ingestre hall, thank you for all that you have done for us and it was amazing, I loved it there so much. Thank you to the cooks, Heather, Ollie, Richard, Tara, Tony, Felix, Grounds staff and Jack it was just so good so thank you!”
